I’ll be home for Christmas

This video has been posted about a million times and once you get beyond the Christmas sentimentality, I looked deeper at other messages, deliberate or otherwise. It reminds me of media under Communism that used subtlety and symbols to get past the censor. The multiracial aspect is very important and that exact yellow rubber duck in the bathtub was used as a symbol of protest against the current President Kaczynski (his name sounds like the Polish word for duck) so the comment to the duck, “I will fucking kill you!” is brilliant in an inside joke kind of way. But really. No self-respecting Pole, especially those with money as in the this video, would not meet their family at the airport and bring them home. Especially if they have never been there before and they don’t speak English.

Isn’t it shocking how Trump is filling his Cabinet with billionaire CEOs after promising to “drain the swamp”? But why are you surprised and keep posting about it? The US is a corporate state run as a corporation. This time, there’s a real businessman at the top, the way it’s always been, except before we had a politician controlled by business while pretending he has our best interests at heart. So it’s come to this. We don’t have to pretend anymore! It’s business as usual, as usual.

From the Short Memories Department. A short list of Obama’s Cabinet with a little background.

1. Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner. Geithner and Larry Summers, Secretary of Treasury under Clinton were the gents who, under Treasury Secretary Rubin, the other Secretary of Treasury under Clinton (the DC revolving door policy) designed the deregulation of banking.

2. Penny Pritzker, Secretary of Commerce. Pritzker headed up subprime lender Superior Bank that went under and left 1,400 poor and minority customers destitute. She took this state senator/community organizer from the streets, made him a US Senator, then, as Obama’s campaign finance chairwoman, raised a mind-blowing three-quarters of a billion dollars to make him president. In return, Obama decided to make his patron Penny the Secretary of Commerce.

3. Obama appointed former Monsanto VP and head lobbyist Michael Taylor as Deputy Commissioner for the FDA — the board tasked with regulating Taylor’s own industry.

4. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. He proved himself a champion for those who saw a money-making opportunity in America’s beleaguered public school system—the charter school and testing industries, for instance. Pushing a market-based vision of reform, Duncan oversaw mass school closures and a deepening obsession with standardized tests, which he said was necessary to prevent teachers from “lying” to children.

“I don’t take a dime of their [lobbyist] money, and when I am president, they won’t find a job in my White House,” Obama, 2008 campaign speech.
